Palmetto Region Directions For
PARENTS/COACHES:
Palmetto Region has a NO-TOLERANCE policy on screaming, yelling, or making any
derogatory remarks to ANY official ( Up ref, down ref, or line judges). Keep in
mind.. they are human.. and most of the time they are kids. Penalty is immediate
dismissal from gym, no warning. Region teams may face sanction to participate in
future tournaments.
Officials/ Players (NEW FOR 2008):
Palmetto Region requires that while on officiating duty, no one is to have in
possession a cell phone, I-pod or song listening device, or food. This includes
R1 Up Ref, R2 Down Ref, Line Judges and especially, scorekeepers. First offense
will be a warning, 2nd offense will be loss of official certification, 3rd may
include sanction from tournament play.
All region tournaments will begin at 8:30am, unless otherwise posted. Gyms open at 8am, All teams must report to captains meeting at 8:15 in the event of schedule change.
a)
From I-20 and/or Upstate South Carolina
Head
into Aiken on either Hwy. 19 or Hwy. 1 (both have exits off of I-20)
Go
~6 to 7 miles to Hwy. 78 (Richland Ave.) and make a right.
From
Hwy. 19, go one block and make a left onto Pendleton St.
From
Hwy. 1, go 4 blocks and make a left onto Pendleton St.
St.
Thadeus is on your right.
b)
From Lower State (Charleston) – coming into Aiken on Hwy. 78 or Hwy. 4
From
the “Fiberglass Plant” (where Hwys. 78 and 4 come together), follow
signs for Hwy. 78 West (towards Aiken).
Go
~3 miles into downtown Aiken.
One
block past Laurens St. (Hwy. 19) is Pendleton St.
Make
a left onto Pendleton St.
St.
Thadeus is on your right.
c)
From Lower State (Hilton Head) – approaching Aiken on Hwy. 19 (from
Hwy. 278 in New Ellenton)
or Hwy. 302 (from Hwy. 125 near Jackson)
Go
towards downtown Aiken on Hwy. 19 (Whiskey Rd.)
Follow
signs for Hwy. 19 into downtown Aiken.
Hwy.
19 makes a left onto Richland Ave.
Stay
on Richland Ave. and make a left onto Pendleton St.
St.
Thadeus is on your right.
