(Midlands Center - Training Facility)
PARENTS/COACHES:
Palmetto Region has a NO-TOLERANCE policy on screaming, yelling, or making any
derogatory remarks to ANY official ( Up ref, down ref, or line judges). Keep in
mind.. they are human.. and most of the time they are kids. Penalty is immediate
dismissal from gym, no warning. Region teams may face sanction to participate in
future tournaments.
Officials/ Players (NEW FOR 2008):
Palmetto Region requires that while on officiating duty, no one is to have in
possession a cell phone, I-pod or song listening device, or food. This includes
R1 Up Ref, R2 Down Ref, Line Judges and especially, scorekeepers. First offense
will be a warning, 2nd offense will be loss of official certification, 3rd may
include sanction from tournament play.
All region tournaments will begin at 8:30am, unless otherwise posted. Gyms open at 8am, All teams must report to captains meeting at 8:15 in the event of schedule change.
WHERE:
Midlands Center - Training Facility, 8301 Farrow RoadDIRECTIONS (see below):
(from Greenville): Take I-26 to I-20 (towards Florence) and then take the Farrow Road Exit. Turn left at the stop sign and the Midlands Center entrance is approximately 3/4 mile down on your left.
(from Florence): Take I-20 to Columbia and then take the Farrow Road Exit. Turn left at the stop sign and the Midlands Center entrance is approximately 3/4 mile down on your left.
(from Charleston / Orangeburg area): Take I-26 to I-77 (towards Charlotte), following I-77 around Columbia. Take the Farrow Road Exit and make a right at the light. Got through one light (Parklane Road), past Pisgah Church Road on your right, and the next entrance is Midlands Center.
(from Sumter area): Take Hwy 378 (towards Columbia) and then take the I-77 Exit (towards Charlotte), following I-77 around Columbia. Take the Farrow Road Exit and make a right at the light. Got through one light (Parklane Road), past Pisgah Church Road on your right, and the next entrance is Midlands Center.
Once on campus, the road immediately forks - stay to the right. Turn left at the first street onto "Crepe Myrtle". A building will be on your left - continue to the very end. The conference room entrance is at the end of the building (two sliding glass doors). Parking is located at the end of the building or directly across the street.
BRING: Pencil/pen and notepad (munchies if you like - snack/drink machines on-site).
