PARENTS/COACHES:
Palmetto Region has a NO-TOLERANCE policy on screaming, yelling, or making any
derogatory remarks to ANY official ( Up ref, down ref, or line judges). Keep in
mind.. they are human.. and most of the time they are kids. Penalty is immediate
dismissal from gym, no warning. Region teams may face sanction to participate in
future tournaments.
Officials/ Players (NEW FOR 2008):
Palmetto Region requires that while on officiating duty, no one is to have in
possession a cell phone, I-pod or song listening device, or food. This includes
R1 Up Ref, R2 Down Ref, Line Judges and especially, scorekeepers. First offense
will be a warning, 2nd offense will be loss of official certification, 3rd may
include sanction from tournament play.
All region tournaments will begin at 8:30am, unless otherwise posted. Gyms open at 8am, All teams must report to captains meeting at 8:15 in the event of schedule change.

DIRECTIONS FROM OUT OF TOWN: From I-95 southbound, take Exit #5 in South
Carolina (Hardeeville, SC). On the off-ramp, bear right and take Route 17 to
Savannah. Cross the Savannah River on the Talmadge Bridge. After crossing the
bridge, take the first exit (Oglethorpe Avenue). Stay on Oglethorpe past MLK
Blvd and Montgomery Street. Turn right on Whitaker (one way street) and go to
31st Street. Turn left on 31st Street and pull into the parking lot on the
right. The gym is in front of you.
DIRECTIONS FROM HILTON HEAD: From Hilton Head, take
Route 278 back to the mainland and go approximately 12 miles to Route 170. Take
Route 170 toward Savannah. Route 170 turns into Alt 170 and Alt 17, and finally
Route 17, which takes you to the Talmadge Bridge. About halfway between
Bluffton and Savannah, after you go around a curve to the left and past a Shell
station, you’ll see a sign for Hwy 170 to the right – do NOT turn, go straight.
Cross the Savannah River on the Talmadge Bridge. Take the first exit,
which is Oglethorpe, and go through several lights until you reach Whitaker.
Turn right on Whitaker (one way street) and go to 31st Street. Turn left on
31st Street and pull into the parking lot on the right. The gym is in front of
you.
