2010 Palmetto Tournament Rules, Registration, and Information
It is your responsibility to know the above rules for Palmetto Region Tournaments- we suggest you read this document. Teams will be held responsible for ALL entries, including entries by error, withdrawals, or refunds. We assume all are correct unless we hear different AND in order to be relived of responsibility, you must have an email from the region stating the error has been corrected.

OFFICIALS:
Interested in officiating for the Palmetto Region - send us an email!  All region tournaments will be officiated by teams, unless otherwise posted.  We expect the COACH to up officiate.

OFFICIATING REQUIREMENTS:
Palmetto Region requires that while on officiating duty, no one is to have in possession a cell phone, I-pod or song listening device, or food. This includes R1 Up Ref, R2 Down Ref, Line Judges and especially, scorekeepers.  First offense will be a warning, 2nd offense will be loss of official certification, 3rd may include sanction from tournament play.  

PARENTS/COACHES: 
Palmetto Region has a NO-TOLERANCE policy on screaming, yelling, or making any derogatory remarks to ANY official ( Up ref, down ref, or line judges). Keep in mind.. they are human.. and most of the time they are kids. Penalty is immediate dismissal from gym, no warning. Region teams may face sanction to participate in future tournaments.

Please take a minute and complete the tournament evaluation form AFTER you play in a tournament. The feedback that the region receives will be used when planning future tournaments.

CLUBS /COACHES /DIRECTORS

All Withdrawals must be handled in writing to the region office. If inside two weeks, contact the host and copy the region (contact info on specific tournament page).  To qualify for a refund, you must have an email from region confirming your withdrawal.

Out of Region Teams:  Must abide by same rules. Clubs who withdraw late and fail to submit to guidelines outlined above will be placed on sanction list and no teams from your club will be allowed to participate in future region tournaments until late fee is settled.   If you play power (gold/Silver) within your region, you must enter Power division within the Palmetto Region.

Team Late Fee of $20 will be charged for entries remitted within two weeks of tournament. 

All region tournaments will begin at 8:30am, unless otherwise posted. Gyms open at 8am, All teams must report to captains meeting at 8:15 in the event of schedule change.

Acceptance requires region receiving (1) Online Confirmation Entry Form (2) Entry Fee (3) Completed Roster from USAV database( if in region) . Special Rules:   NO BALL HANDLING INSIDE BUILDING

Food in Gym:  No Food in volleyball court area, may have assigned room area for food. prefer outside, weather permitting.  Limited tables will be provided. 

Please make sure all coaches/players/parents abide by the following. Failure to do any of these can result in the team being disqualified, point penalty,  or fined.  Visitors are only allowed to remain in the CS gym  or viewing area. If you have small children they can NOT be allowed in other areas of the club. 

Very Important: Ladies-  PLEASE do not flush any  sanitary items  in the toilets. We will guarantee it will stop it up and everyone will be screaming, no restrooms to use, then we will be sending you out back to the pine trees :).. pls find a trash can and by all means-FLUSH!!  IF the toilets do stop up, PLEASE report it to the gym supervisor immediately.

Parking parents Read this:  Due to limited parking in the FRONT Paved Lot, during tournaments, ALL volleyball parking must park in rear of building.   PARKING LOT- this is limited to WSC Members only and Club South will be fined if volleyball participants park here.. please assist us. 

When you enter the Parking Lot, drive around narrow drive on LEFT side of Building to rear of building, enter back entrance.

Seating is limited, bring sport chairs.  Also, the court building itself is NOT heated (during winter)..but usually it is comfortable, especially after several hundred people get inside= dress warm.  We do have a limited viewing area from above courts.  No food or drinks (water ok) can be in the the gym area. 

No BALL HANDLING INSIDE the club.. only in gym area. Any caught, team will be penalized 5 points.

From Atlanta/ Greenville:
Take I –85 toward Spartanburg - Take Exit 66 - Go 3.4 Miles to Hadden Rd.
Turn Right on Hadden Rd. (right side of new Target store) - Go .2 Miles to Willis Rd.
Turn Right on Willis Rd. - Westside Club just ahead on left.

From Charlotte:
Take I-85 South (take Business I-85 in Sptbg) , to I-26 toward Columbia, Take Exit 21A South toward Greer (Hwy 29)
Past IHOP and new Target Store, turn left onto Hadden Rd. Right at Stop sign, Club on left.

From Charleston/Columbia:                                                                  
Take I-26 West to Spartanburg, Take Exit 21A South toward Greer (Hwy 29) Past IHOP and new Target Store, turn left onto Hadden Rd. Right at Stop sign, Club on left.

From Asheville, NC                                                                                                 
Take I-26 East toward Spartanburg. Exit 21A.. follow directions above.
