2010
Power Format
Power division will begin play
Saturday at 8:30 (coaches meeting 8:15) will play
Round 1 of pool play and reseed about 2pm into Round
2. You will play 2 of your 3 matches on Saturday
afternoon and return Sunday to begin at 8am to play
final match of Round 2. Round 3 will be
playoffs, all advance to single elimination playoffs
by 10am Sunday. Finals are expected around 2pm.

Tournament Rules, Registration, and Information
It is your responsibility to know the
above rules for Palmetto Region Tournaments- we suggest
you read this document. Teams will be held responsible for ALL
entries, including entries by error, withdrawals, or refunds. We
assume all are correct unless we hear different AND in order to
be relived of responsibility, you must have an email from the
region stating the error has been corrected.

Hosted by Club South
We ask each team to purchase small gift to exchange
with your opposing teams. This will be done at
the greeting at net during beginning of each match
played. Plan on about 10 gifts per match. Gifts
can be any small item ( Cups, VB key chains,
something from your city or state,
personalized music CDs, candy,
etc, etc). Match: Club division plan on 4-5 matches.
Power Division- Plan on 6-7 matches.

OFFICIALS:
Interested in
officiating for the Palmetto Region -
send us an email! All region tournaments will be officiated by
teams, unless otherwise posted. We expect the COACH to up
officiate.
OFFICIATING REQUIREMENTS:
Palmetto Region requires that while on officiating duty, no one
is to have in possession a cell phone, I-pod or song listening
device, or food. This includes R1 Up Ref, R2 Down Ref, Line
Judges and especially, scorekeepers. First offense will be a
warning, 2nd offense will be loss of official certification, 3rd
may include sanction from tournament play.
PARENTS/COACHES:
Palmetto Region has a NO-TOLERANCE policy on screaming, yelling,
or making any derogatory remarks to ANY official ( Up ref, down
ref, or line judges). Keep in mind.. they are human.. and most
of the time they are kids. Penalty is immediate dismissal from
gym, no warning. Region teams may face sanction to participate
in future tournaments.
Please take a minute and complete the
tournament evaluation form AFTER you play
in a tournament. The feedback that the region receives will be used when
planning future tournaments.

Late tournament Team Withdrawal Information

Teams must request withdrawal in WRITING and save the written
response from Region to be eligible for refund. If you do not
get a response within 48 hrs of sending your request- call
region. ]

Teams who withdraw inside three weeks will forfeit their
entry fee. |

Less than 3 wk |
Notification inside three weeks will result of forfeit of
entry fee, plus $50 fine. Contact both Region and Host
[by phone- must talk to someone].

Less than 2 Wks |
Teams must contact tournament Host AND Region[by
phone- must talk to someone].
Teams
will forfeit entry fee, plus $100 fine. |

Within 1 week or no show |
Teams who inside one week or fail to notify the
tournament host AND region by phone AND email, or who
fail to show up, will forfeit entry fee, be fined $150
and be placed on probation. |

Confirm withdrawal |
Teams requesting withdrawal must have a written email
confirmation from region in order to avoid fines or
entry fee. We must be able to prove you notify us,
otherwise you are responsible. |
All
Withdrawals must be handled in writing to the
region office. If
inside two weeks, contact the host and copy the region (contact
info on specific tournament page). To qualify for a
refund, you must have an email from region confirming your
withdrawal.
Out of Region Teams:
Must abide by same rules. Clubs who withdraw late and fail to
submit to guidelines outlined above will be placed on sanction
list and no teams from your club will be allowed to participate
in future region tournaments until late fee is settled. If
you play power (gold/Silver) within your region, you must enter
Power division within the Palmetto Region.
Team Late Fee of $20 will
be charged for entries remitted within two weeks of tournament.
All region
tournaments will begin at 8:30am, unless otherwise posted. Gyms
open at 8am, All teams must report to captains meeting at 8:15
in the event of schedule change.
