Adult Members Requirements for Official
Certification

Adult Team
Requirements: *
Each team must have the
following minimum requirements of certified officials per team before
participating in sanctioned tournaments.
Sanction season begins Dec. 1st. , but region
will allow teams until Dec. 15th to get players certified.
How to become certified
If you are a new
player, you must follow the instructions below to become certified for
scorekeeping or referee status.
Past players should
check to see your current status.
Once you obtain your regional rating, you will be
certified for three seasons. If you do not obtain a regional rating, you
will need to take a clinic each year. IF you attended a clinic last year
and/or was rated and you do NOT show up on the current list, contact
official coordinator
and inform them of the details.
Scorekeeping Certification:
1) You can take your clinic and test online and within 2 hours be certified
for three seasons. Adults do not need to be rated for scorekeeping.
Provisional Referee
Certification:
1) You will need to attend a certification
regional clinic.
2) Take open book
online referee Test
C and
pass by 70%.

3) Obtain one rating
by regional rater within season
(pass by 3 or above rating) It is the members
responsibility to seek out a regional rater during a tournament and obtain
rating. Rating must be remitted to regional office in order to be credited.
Raters need to remit the rating, but members are required to notify the
official coordinator
and notify them of (1) Your rating score (2) location you were rated and (3) Who
the rater was.
Members will remain
provisional until they fulfill the requirements to qualify as a regional
referee. If he or she fails to become a regional referee they would be
required to re-qualify each year. Members are encouraged to qualify with
“regional” status to prevent annual certification and need to attend clinic.

Referee Certification

Be in good standing with the
region and a current member.

Must have been a USAV member for
one season or longer.

** Have two rating within season
(passing grade of 3 or above).

Take the open book
online Referee Test A,
pass by 80%.

To maintain regional status, every
three years member must meet required requirements of taking test above and obtain two rating with passing grade of 3 or above.
