IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT
TAKING REFEREE / SCOREKEEPER TEST:
After you take your test, ONLY hit the submit button once!! ONLY take the
TEST ONCE! Every time you hit the submit button, the test is
re-submitted, which can result from you being restricted for future use!
Your results will be emailed to you and to our officials Chair. The email
will say to correct to 100%. If you pass by (70% for juniors,
80% for adults/coaches) then you do not
need to correct any wrong answers.
If you did NOT pass by minimum scores, correct the wrong answers on the
email and send to

Junior Team
Minimum Requirements:
Each team must have the
following minimum requirements of certified officials per team before
participating in sanctioned tournaments. Note: Juniors are
encouraged to seek their Regional Rating Certification to avoid annual certifications.

Two certified scorekeepers.
·
One certified junior referee for R1 and
two certified junior referees for R2 .
·
One certified coach or adult as a
scorekeeper, R1 and R2 referee.
Junior Players must be rated
a Regional Referee in order to perform R1 Duties. We encourage coaches/adult perform
R1 duties, REQUIRED in the ages of 14 and below.
REFEREE REQUIREMENTS
If you are a new,
you must follow the Provisional instructions below to become certified for scorekeeping
and/or referee status.
Past players
should check to see your
current
status. Once you obtain your regional
rating, you will be certified for three seasons. If you do not obtain a regional rating, you will
need to take a clinic and test each year.
Provisional Referee
Certification:

1) You will need to attend a certification
regional clinic. Your club may host
there own clinic, check with club director. Must include viewing the new DVD
officiating clinic.
2) For Adult/Coach or Junior
obtaining R1 certification, take open book
online referee Test
C and
pass by 70%.
3) Obtain one rating
by regional rater within season
(pass by 3 or above rating) It is the members
responsibility to seek out a regional rater during a tournament or clinic
and obtain rating. Rating must be remitted to regional office in order to be
credited. This rating may be done by your own club by an approved
regional rater.
Regional Raters will be announced on the website,
so you will know who will be in attendance at specific facilities.
Junior Tournament Schedule
Members will remain
provisional until they fulfill the requirements to qualify as a regional
referee. If he or she fails to become a regional referee they would be
required to re-qualify each year. Members are encouraged to qualify with
“regional” status to prevent annual certification and need to attend clinic.
Regional certification is good for three seasons.

(passing grade of 3 or above). One may be done by your club,
if you have an approved regional rater. (Inner
club rating are not paid by region to rater. )

To maintain regional status, every

obtain two rating with passing grade of 3 or above.

SCOREKEEPING
REQUIREMENTS
“Provisional”
Region Scorekeeper
Requirements:
Good for only one year.
Provisional scorekeeper
officials are defined as members who are new to USAV or have not been rated as a
regional scorekeeper official.

Requirements to become a
provisional scorekeeper:

Be a member and in good standing
with the region.

Take the
online scorekeeper clinic
-
Must take the online
scorekeeper test
and
pass by 70%.

You are considered provisional
during your first year of scorekeeping. No rating is needed. Once
you have competed one season as a scorekeeper, your coach for that season can
remit a form stating you have qualifications to score keep.
Coaches

“Regional”
Scorekeeper Certification Requirements Good
for 3 years.
1) Take the
online clinic. 2) Take the scorekeeper test
and

By completing the above requirements, you will be considered Regional
scorekeeper and good for three years.
